Karen Micheals voice is full of heart and soul, with a bit of sass on the side…pop with a jazzy curve! She sings in a nationally reviewed jazz trio, Dangerous Curves. Although she is the resident alto of the group, the girls sometimes make her venture into scary territory…like singing the melody! Karen has traveled the world singing for dignitaries and working with such celebrities as Toni Tennille and Diahann Carroll. Her education ranges from Citrus College for vocal performance to Berklee School of Music for piano and jazz studies (ongoing). Privately, she studies voice, piano and performance. She has truly begun to work on the art of Cabaret, most recently with the likes of Billy Stritch, Marilyn Maye and Jason Graae to name a few. Karen is currently working on the writing and recording of her first solo EP. In addition to singing with Dangerous Curves, Karen owns her own music studio, Chicksinger Studios, where she teaches voice and piano, sings with her band called “The Special K Project,” writes for BlogHer, and her own blog at Viewpoints of A Chicksinger and somehow finds time to be a wife and a mommy and a really great friend!
